Loch Bay is a fully licensed restaurant with an extensive selection of wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks.
We choose not to offer a ‘wine flight’ with our tasting menu for operational reasons, but are happy to help with recommendations for suitable wines either by the glass or bottle. There is no bar area for pre or post-dinner drinks, however the Stein Inn is just a few doors along the road from us.
If you wish to bring your own choice of wine there is a corkage fee of £20.00 per bottle.
Children dining at Loch Bay
Children of all ages are welcome at Loch Bay, however we have only 7 tables (of which only 3 are large enough for a family). There is a minimum charge of £27.50 for children aged 10 and below; children aged 11 and over will be charged full price. We do not have a children’s menu but can prepare smaller portions or simplified dishes if necessary.
We can cater for dietary restrictions or special diets, whether that is by modifying our lunch/dinner menu or preparing an alternative tasting menu (by advance request only). Please inform us prior to visiting the restaurant of any dietary requirements or restrictions.
Casual is fine – Loch Bay is a relaxed environment.
We are unable to allow dogs (other than guide dogs) into the restaurant.
Gift vouchers are available for any value of your choice and are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Contact the restaurant by email or phone to discuss purchasing one.
The largest number of guests we can seat at a single table is 8. The largest group size we can seat is 14. Loch Bay is not a suitable venue for events such as wedding receptions.
For all parties of 5 or more guests we require a deposit of £10 per person to secure the booking. The deposit is refundable in the event of cancellation up to 48 hours prior of the booked arrival time. The deposit is non-refundable if the reservation is cancelled within 48 hours prior to the booked arrival time or in the event of a no-show.
We are not open every day and our hours change seasonally. You can find our opening hours detailed in full here.
There is a large parking area at the pier in Stein, just beside the restaurant. Several spaces are reserved for Loch Bay diners. This area is not covered or shaded from the sun.
There is one small step into the building. The narrowest point of the entrance into the restaurant is 69cm/27 inches wide.
The narrowest points of the entrances to our public toilet rooms are 57cm/22.5 inches wide. The toilet rooms are large enough to manoeuvre a wheelchair in however there are not assistance railings or bars installed.
Our Front of House team deals with all enquiries before and after service, therefore any enquiries sent when we are closed will be responded to the next time the team are on duty
